Mimicry is "the art or act of copying or imitating closely." From a learning perspective we have an entire subset of our nervous system devoted to learning through copying. They're called mirror neurons and they are fascinating. To some extent, we all learn how to do things through mimicry - monkey see, monkey do. We can - and should - also use mimicry to teach. Coaches who are good mimics are better teachers.

Fifth Ape T-shirts! Get one!

We've recently had a few students ask about the possibility of getting a Fifth Ape T-shirt. Being the world's worst MBA, I've always found the idea of turning my students into walking billboards a bit gauche, but if they're asking for it... well... I am a benevolent soul.

So we're going to do some T-shirts! And you should totally get one!

Now, unfortunately, this is only for our students and folks who are local to the Triangle. We can't ship anywhere (yet) so you'll need to get yourself over to Chapel Hill for a pick-up.

Here's how it's going to work. Go to a new page I just made (ambitiously called 'Store') and fill out the simple form. If you are a current Fifth Ape student you have the option of having us bill your current account. Otherwise, you can bring us cash or a check. We'll keep the order form up until April 5th and then we'll place the order. The shirts should be ready a week or two later - once they are we'll send out an email and you can drop by a class to pick them up!

We'll have regular adult unisex shirts, sizes S-XL, unisex youth shirts, sizes S-L, and a female cut shirt, sizes S-L. The price for all shirts is $15.

I greatly appreciate any support you can give us - we've got a lot of big things coming up in the next few months and every little bit helps. If you have any questions about anything please drop us a line and we'll take care of you!
